I have worked for the wonderful CFA Society Finland for years, and it’s always great to be a part of their event team. In March I got the change to capture the fifth Nordic Investment Conference in the beautiful Stock Exchange Building in central Helsinki. The event was held in Finland for the first time. The Stock Exchange Building is a familiar place for me from previous assignments, so I knew my way around.
The conference gathered together a brilliant group of experts, 17 speakers from around the world. The topics were really interesting and I enjoyed listening to them while photographing. Presentations included hybrid warfare, defence and security, cybersecurity and AI in finance and investment management, just to name a few.
Some of the most famous Finnish experts were Mikko Hyppönen, Chief Research Officer from WithSecure with his presentation Cybersecurity In The Age of Artificial Intelligence and Jarno Limnell, PhD and a Member of the Parliament. Their presentations were very inspiring. I also enjoyed the very dynamic speech Hybrid Warfare and its Effects in the Nordics by Cecilie Hellestveist, PhD, Fellow at Norwegian Academy of International Law.
One of the best things about event photography is the people. It’s always great fun to engage with the participants! As usual, many people had questions about photography. I’m always glad to help and chat with them while having a cup of coffee.
At the Nordic Investment Conference in Helsinki I used exactly the same equipment as I used when photographing presidents Zelenskyi and Stubb a week earlier. After that I wrote an article detailing my camera gear for event photography. Click here if you are interested!
